Bowling pin and a bowling ball on cupcakes - I made these for my husband to share with his bowling league. Brunswick Via Linda Lanes is right across the street from the Simply Sweets Cake Studio so I'm sure we'll be doing many more bowling themed cakes and cupcakes.
Here's a bowling themed cake that we did a few years ago (and was never posted to my blog) that I wanted to share - it was for a family birthday celebration held at a bowling alley.
We created this huge cupcake cake for a Star Wars themed celebration. We airbrushed the icing black instead of coloring the icing black so that only the very top layer of icing was black and it helped to prevent everyone's mouth from getting stained black. The cake was dotted with silver stars and two light sabers. This party was held at the YMCA XRKade and my son attended this party and had a blast!
Cupcake cakes are popular because they can easily be made to any size, can be a mix of flavors and easy to portion out when servings.
We also created a small family cake for the same birthday boy - this is a 7 inch round cake and perfect for a small family celebration.
We've been creating Hayden's birthday cupcake cakes since his 3rd birthday - 3rd birthday firetruck, 4th birthday race car and now a 5th birthday Star Wars themed celebration.
We created this pink ladybug cupcake tower for a 2nd birthday celebration. The tower is topped with a 3D ladybug on a bed of grass and pink flowers. Our customer rented our 4 tier cupcake tower stand and 1/2 the cupcakes were done with a pink sassy circle design and 1/2 decorated with grass and flowers. You know a cake is cute when the first word out of the mouth of the man picking up the cake is "cute!". Ladybug themed birthday parties are big right now - look for a few more blog posts coming with more ladybug inspired sweets.
