Today is Chocolate Cake Day - yes there really is such a thing!
So make sure you do your part and have some chocolate cake today - enjoy!
Ladies Night at Peoria's Glazin In the Sun was a huge success! There were so many great vendors with great products to view and purchase and we had a great turnout of fun ladies. We provided samples of our cupcakes - White Almond Sour Cream with American Buttercream or Chocolate Buttercream icing. We also had chocolate purses and shoes available for sale - these are always a hit.
This basket was created for a woman who loves chocolate covered pretzels. 2 dozen pretzels dipped in dark chocolate, accented with pink and 3 flower shaped pretzels (2 in white chocolate tinted pink and 1 in dark chocolate). Its that combination of salty and sweet that always makes these such a hit!
A princess castle cake and a tea pot - 2 of our most popular cakes!
The first is a princess castle cake for Princess Jadyn's birthday - the cake is 9 inch round with white sourcream with strawberry mousse filling.
A change from the pink and purple girl themed cakes, January's popular cake theme has been cars.
The first cake was for a surprise 40th birthday party for a man whose favorite car is a Porshe. The car is made from dark chocolate. Cake is chocolate sourcream with 2 layers of chocolate mousse and 1 layer of raspberry mousse. Decorations are done with buttercream and fondant. The sign and happy birthday plaque are done using edible images.
Food, door prizes and give aways - please join Simply Sweets and some other great vendors at Glazin in the Sun on Wednesday, January 23rd. Please RSVP to 623-878-5354
My son turned two at the end of December and we celebrated his birthday with a train themed party and of course, a train themed cake. He loves cake, especially chocolate. The cake is a 2 tiered cake with a 10 inch layer of double chocolate sour cream with white chocolate mousse filling and a 8 inch tier of white sour cream with raspberry mousse. The cake is iced in American buttercream with fondant accents. We added the birthday Thomas train to the cake. This cake was inspired by a design done by one of my favorite sugar artists, Sharon of Sharon's Sugar Shack
Another cake from December. This pirate ship cake was made for a 4th birthday party. This cake served approximately 45 - it was chocolate sour cream with chocolate mousse filling and covered with chocolate fondant. We used candles as cannons. The mom is an amazing party planner and the house was decorated for the pirate theme - she sent me a few pictures of the cake setup. She added a few pirate figurines to the cake.
This cake was ordered by a repeat customer for her daughter's 3rd birthday. The theme for the party was tinkerbell and the mom purchased this candle to go on top of the cake.
This cake was ordered for a little girl who is turning two and one of her favorite books is The Jungle Book. The mom purchased Jungle Book figurines that were placed on the cake - Baloo in the water, Bagheera on the rock and the other characters around the base of the board. This cake was white sour cream with pineapple filling - a filling not ordered very often but is quite yummy!
I'm doing some catch up today posting some cakes from December. The first two are similar designs, Iced brown (chocolate) with Sassy Circles in two shades of pink - one cake was for a first birthday and one for a baby shower. These cakes were inspired by the "N" monogram cake that is posted on my website.
First Birthday - they also ordered a coordinating smash cake and flower chocolate dipped pretzels with a personalized note that said "Hugs and Kisses, Kyleigh"
Baby Shower - this cake was delivered to The Farm at South Mountain. This shower was held outside during a week of rain but the rain let up just in time for the party. They also ordered baskets of party favors which included "Its a Girl" suckers, baby bottle pretzels, teddy bear chocolate covered graham crackers and baby themed chocolate dipped oreos.
