Bear themed cupcakes and chocolate dipped oreos were ordered for a baby boy shower. The cupcakes are white sourcream, American buttercream icing with fondant bear cutouts on top. Half the oreos were milk chocolate with blue baby feet and half were white chocolate with brown bears. Usually the oreos are ordered as favors and wrapped in a bag with a custom tag - these were ordered unwrapped so that they would be enjoyed during the party.

Because of the holiday, we're doing a Tuesday fun. More playing with photos as this time I used Big Huge Lab's Warholizer on my Pink and Black Zebra Monogram cake. As always, if you try this fun little application, please leave a post to your blog entry.

I hope you enjoyed your Memorial Day weekend! The weather here was perfect which was a surprise after a week where we first hit over 100 degrees and then the temperature dropped into the 50s. We enjoyed the great weather by going on a hike at Thunderbird Conservation Park. What did you do to celebrate the 3 day weekend?
This cake was actually created for a Labor Day party but would work perfectly for a Memorial Day or Fourth of July celebration
And here's a great cupcake creation that I found on Flickr:

Daniela Jay Boutique, a children's and women's clothing shop in Glendale, celebrated their 2 year anniversary along with their daughter's 4th birthday. We were very excited when they asked us to create a cake and favors for their celebration. The cake and cupcakes were done in light pink accented with vibrant pink, yellow, orange and green. They also ordered chocolate dipped pretzels with a tag that read "Thank you for celebrating with us, Daniela Jay".
If you haven't visited this boutique yet, you must head on over - let them know that Simply Sweets sent you. The store is filled with adorable and chic items, perfect for gifts, a special occasion or just to spoil yourself and your children. Mariter, the owner, has created her own line of girl's dresses which are just gorgeous. I'm hoping she'll design a line for boys, too!

This pink and brown baby shower cake is a repeat design and we've have received so much positive feedback about this design since we posted the original one on our blog. We've been getting calls from people across the US wanting to know if we ship cakes or if we can reccomend a local bakery who can reproduce a similar design.
This cake is a 2 tier (6 inch and 10 inch rounds) with the bottom layer of chocolate sourcream cake with white chocolate mousse and the top tier is white sourcream with chocolate mousse filling. Cake is iced in American buttercream with fondant accents.

This cake was ordered for a jungle-themed baby shower. Baby Gabriel's nursery is being decorated with the Zanzibar bedding and they wanted the cake to coordinate. This cake was inspired by a yellow and green jungle themed baby shower cake I did a few months ago.

In honor of Mother's Day I thought I post some gumpaste flowers that I made a few years ago while taking a class at Notter School of Pastry Arts. Because I don't do traditional wedding cakes, I don't make these flowers for my cake orders but it is fun to learn and practice the techniques.

These flower-shaped decadent brownies make grat gifts - these were ordered as teacher gifts for Teacher Appreciation Week and as thank you gifts. Why are they called decadent brownies? 2 kinds of chocolate, a hint of coffee, and walnuts make these brownies very rich. A glass of milk is a must when enjoying these treats!

A friend of mine ordered 2 sets of these police-themed chocolates. One set is for her cousin who recently graduated from the police academy and the second as a secret sis gift during "chocolate week" for a woman who once considered being a cop. The set included handcuffs, baton, radio and badge.
