Sweet Stuff - Halloween edition
Our first Sweet Stuff post was very popular so we will continue to post more of our favorite sweet stuff finds. In honor of Halloween, I'm posting a Halloween cake plateau. I love collecting cake stands especially those with feet. This was a new item I acquired this year from one of my favorite places to find cake plates and plateaus at great prices - Homegoods!

Football themed birthday cake
This cake was ordered for a Raider's football fan so we decorated it in black, gray and white with a football made of cake on top.
Welcome Baby J
Baby J Blue and Brown Sassy Circles Cake with shoes and rattle, originally uploaded by Simply Sweets.
Our very popular Sassy Circles design used for a baby shower cake in 2 shades of blue, brown and white. The cake was a large 12 inch round so we added a rattle in addition to the shoes.
A Very Girly 3rd Birthday
The cake and cupcakes were designed for a little girl turning 3 who loves girly things especially perfume and lipgloss so that she can be just like her mom. Her favorite color is pink and the hot pink feather boa was added to make it extra girly. The lipstick, lips and perfume bottle are made of white chocolate tinted pink.
Princess Baby Shower Cake

This cake was designed to coordinate with the nursury bedding. The bedding is pinks and greens and they have selected princess tiara decorations for the room. The mom-to-be loves things extra sparkly, so pink dragees were used for the daisy centers.
2 cupcakes were ordered for the mom and dad-to-be to enjoy together after the shower.

Memorial cake
This cake was created for a memorial lunchean for a woman who loved tennis. The cake is a tennis court in Heaven. Small tennis player figurines were added by the customer. This cake was huge - a 2 layer 1/2 sheet cake and serves approximately 60-80.

Train baby shower cake
This cake was designed to coordinate with the nursury bedding that was also used as the theme for the shower. The cake colors are green, 2 shades of blue, and orange. The train is textured to match the dotted and striped pattern and the button wheels on the bedding.
Red, White and Black themed First Birthday sweets
This customer ordered a 2 tiered cake, cupcakes, smash cake and favors for a first birthday celebration. The colors were done in red, black and white for a Mickey Mouse themed party. The cake was inspired by a design that I originally did for my son's first birthday and has since been repeated in other color schemes and sizes.

pilots birthday
This cake was ordered for a suprise birthday party for a pilot. The red and yellow stripes and the plane's number were added to to look like his plane. This is a 2 tiered cake with the airplane on top of the sky filled with buttercream clouds.
Our 'off-set circles' cupcake design has become a hit!
We've had our 'off-set circles' cupcake design on special for the past few months ($25 for 1 dozen) and its become quite popular for parties and for delivered gifts. We've done it in many different color combinations - so far my favorite is the pink and green. 2 dozen were ordered for a Rosh HaShanah celebration. This customer also ordered to of our popular oreo bouquets for teacher gifts.
I've been referring to these cupcakes as "off-set circles" but I'd love to come up with a better name for the design? Any ideas? I already use "Sassy Circles" for a very popular Simply Sweets cake design.

Tow Truck Cupcake Cake for a Second Birthday
This cupcake to celebrate a second birthday was designed to coordinate with an invitation from Polka Dot Design. This cupcake cake is made from 30 cupcakes.
Pea in the pod shower cake - baby boy
Another Pea in the Pod themed baby shower cake but this one was for 1 boy instead of triplets. The baby was modeled to coordinate with the shower invitation.

Mommy Networking opens 2 new chapters - Scottsdale and Anthem
All working moms are invited to check out the 2 new chapters for Mommy Networking - Scottsdale and Anthem. Mommy Networking is a group of working moms who want to connect with other moms. I am currently involved in the Peoria/Glendale chapter and sometimes attend Surprise chapter. Once Scottsdale opens that will be my main chapter though you will sometimes see me at Peoria, Surprise and Anthem chapters. There are also chapters in Avondale/Goodyear and Gilbert.
Scottsdale Chapter - first meeting is Wednesday October 15th at 630 pm

Pink diamond design Tiara cake
This tiara cake was ordered for a girl's 5th birthday. The diamond pattern works great for the girly princess theme in all pink with pearls. The tiara is made from fondant painted with silver and pink color. This is the new version of our tiara replacing the royal icing version which was too fragile - we found that as soon as we deliver the cake, the little girls reach for the tiara wanting to wear it so we come up with a sturdier version incase it is handled before the party starts. This cake was inspired by our earlier tiara cakes - one design that has been used for birthdays and 1 version was used for a bridal shower.
Surprise Birthday cupcake delivery to a workplace
These pink and green cupcakes were ordered as a birthday surprise and were delivered to a sports team's business office near the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale. This color combination is fun and I had the perfect ribbon for the gift box.
Welcome Baby Cash
This 2 tiered baby shower cake was ordered for a baby boy shower. This cake is similar to several I've done in the past as the customer picked several elements and colors from previous Simply Sweets designs. Someone recently asked why we post repeat designs. There are 2 reasons we have decided to do this - first, our customers love to their very own custom cake creation (or cupcakes, chocolates, cookies, etc) on our blog. Also, it helps our customers see how if there is a design they like it can still be customized to be a better fit for their celebration.

Tie-dye cupcakes
These cupcakes were a lot of fun! Iced with American buttercream, airbrushed for a tie-dye look and then topped with a chocolate peace sign (white chocolate tinted red) these were created for a teenage boy's birthday celebration. These cupcakes were inspired by my "groovy" cake that I made several years ago when I first got my airbrush and wanted to play.
Space themed 4th birthday celebration
This cake was ordered for a 4th birthday celebration. The cupcakes were ordered for addtional servings and were used to spell out the birthday boy's name and age. This cake was inspired by a version I did last year but this time the icing was American buttercream tinted blue instead of chocolate buttercream. This cake was delivered to Kids Park in Paradise Valley. If you've got kids, you should really check out Kids Park. Its drop off childcare for up to 4 hours for kids ages 2 - 12 with great planned activities. They also host birthday parties on Sundays.

This 2 tiered cake was created for a 40th birthday celebration. Cake is iced with chocolate buttercream - yum! This cake was inspired by a 1 tier version with a monogram.
