10 Cake and Cupcake Trends for 2011 - Part 2: Purple

We've compiled a list of 10 trends for cake & cupcake designs that increased during 2010 and we think you'll see even more of in 2011!

Second on the list is purple. We seen a huge increase in requests for purple designed cakes especially those that we've always done in pink. Is purple the new pink?? And its not just for birthday cakes, we're getting requests for baby shower (often based on the nursery colors) and bridal showers (based on the wedding colors)

10 Cake & Cupcake Trends For 2011, Part 1: Zebra Print

We've compiled a list of 10 trends for cake & cupcake designs that increased during 2010 and we think you'll see even more of in 2011!

First on the list is a design that locally we've become known for - Zebra Print. Most often it's done in black and white or hot pink and white but we've also created designs with blue/white, purple/black, and pink/white zebra. And its not just for cakes - we've done zebra print cupcakes and we're working on zebra print chocolate dipped oreos and sugar cookies!

Yellow, Orange and Blue Airplane 1st Birthday Cake

We created this cake and jumbo cupcake smash cake to coordinate with our customer's party invitation (which was designed as an airplane ticket) for an airplane themed 1st birthday celebration. The cake is topped with an airplane surrounded by clouds. We added the birthday boy's name to the top and a star with a 1 on the front.
